Polyvinyl alcohol should not be confused with polyvinyl acetate, also available and known as an effective wood remedy. Polyvinyl alcohol can be found in many household items due to its ability to dissolve in water. Some of the uses of polyvinyl alcohol would be as follows: manufacturing adhesives, thickening polyvinyl acetate glues, coating for detergent packaging. For example liquid tablets where you want the plastic to be dissolved. Polyvinyl alcohol is also used in the production of Slime, together with Borax.
